Dream, but modest, new system spec

Just been attempting to put together a hyperthetical new system. I wanted to build something that was a great system but within reach
i.e. not the latest, greatest parts that would push the system price well over a grand (and then some!!). How does this lot look so that if
I had a bit of spare cash (which I don't right now) I could click on the 'buy' button?

Hmm I not sure what it is your asking but if it were me I would swap the case out for one of those Lancool with the neat side window or spend another £10 and get a proper Lian Li case like this one.

If you want dream performance but can’t afford dream parts consider buying another HD5770 and putting it in Crossfire and with the kind of scaling those cards get you will be getting HD5870 performance and some.

I'd swap the 5770 for a 460 768MB, HDD for a samsung f3 500GB, the memory for a 1600MHz kit, the case for an antec 300 and the mobo for a Asus P7P55D-E

so that saves you about £21 which I would personally spend on upgrading the HDD to a Samsung F3 1TB or the case to a CM 690 II lite

^ it doesn't need to be in the mobo description as memory speed is handled by the processor and you can choose any speed providing the BCLK is set top the right speed

Looks familiar...
*glances at sig*

+1 for 1600 Mhz kit.

Basically, you push the BCLK (the cpu clock frequency) up to 160 instead of the usual 133, then drop the CPU multiplier down. All done by enabling the RAM XMP.

the motherboard supports crossfire.

the psu is modular and has enough power and pci-e connectors for two 5830 if you wanted crossfire.

Actually, nothing, but you dismissed the Solo in favour of something with a case window, so that irked me. Didn't mean to come across like that.
Have to say I'm not a big fan of most PC cases that I've looked at but I really like the Antec cases, especially the solo. Antec cases are very well made & just look neat, which is what I want from a case. Also just bought a Lian A05N for a build I'm doing for a colleague. Fantastic case. Might actually go for one of these myself.
