Yay or nay?

Been offered a 2012 R1 with akrapovics and a custom spray paint done by dream machines,

Bike is brand new 2012 model with traction control price is 10k!

Just not sure how good dream machines are? I know they do some BSB bikes and such but I love OCD like quality?

on the other hand bike is a steal at that price!

I've heard mixed reviews to be honest, some good and some not so good.

What paint job is it? Not Swan?

Not swan,

50th anniversiary edition colours!

or anything I want.

New R1 being offered with a custom paint job for 10k but I dont want to buy a crappy imperfect job.

So, a brand new 2012 model R1 with TC, supplied with a custom paintjob that would easily cost £1k from DreamMachine for £10k.... That is a pretty amazing deal.

What's the catch / where from?

the catch is I think that the bike is pre reg with less than 15 miles on the clock! owned by Yamaha UK and put on display at the TT last year but as mentioned the chaps offering a custom paint job from dream machines but this must cost how much if its done correctly? about a grand?

Robinson's of Rochdale, going to check it out friday and see!

I'm thinking deep down go with what I know and pay extra and get one from Wigan Yamaha.

Will see whats what!

If it all checks out then it seems like a very good deal mate. Only thing i would want confirming is why they are offering a paint job, just check it hasn't been down the road!

Let us know how you get on.

I've bought a couple of bikes second hand that had dreamworks paint jobs. It was a fair few years ago though but both were fantastic quality. The respsol nc30 in particular was flawless.

There's a choice of 2, one is a Pirelli Livery which will be horrid and a grey one which I dont like, 2012 model R1's dont look goods with colour schemes apart from the 50th anniversiary model and the newer BSB one they got going one.

Will have a look at one in the showroom which is an 2010 model sprayed by dreammachine and check out it's paint!

Ive had a dream machines relentless suzuki and was chuffed with the paint job!

Not so chuffed with the price of repair after i dropped it against a wall though.

o_O

I had a TL1000s with a dream machine paint job and was very average to **** quality bad fading.

Also a dealer I know used them on a regular basis and jobs were hit and miss

If the paint job is very important to you I would view first.

TBH the more I think about it the less i'm interested now - searching the net asking around and it's mixed views.

I'll still go to see a bike painted by them but will propably plump for a genuine yamaha 50th one and pay the stupid asking price for it :( least I know what to expect from Yamaha!
