Does anyone with Vista run this without any problems? When I run it, I will get the odd lock up or BSOD. I thought it might be the new Nvidia drivers, but feel it is me playing with Dreamscene.

I get this as well. Occassional "Dreamscene has stopped working" errors. It also does not like some video formats, and it seems temperamental with compressed formats. Im on an ATI graphics card though, not Nvidia.

Ultimately useless. Nice to look at, but then how long are you staring at your desktop for when using your computer?

I tryed it on mine (8800gts 640mb) and it just kept crashing no matter what drivers I used.

U can use it to play porn clips ;)

Seriously though it's not worth using and it does take a bit more system resources for playing something u hardly ever sees.

The ammount of processor time to play the sample mpegs is ridiculous.on my old axp 3200 machine cpu is 100% with dreamscene and cant do anything with it on ;)

On the Amiga you could do things like tv output as background with 0% processor used ;).

Dreamscene have never crashed for me & have only seen avg 7% cpu .

dreamscene just crashed vista now, bluescreen and everything!

anyway, if anyone's interested in some Awesome Scenes which are fairly low resource guzzlers, take your pick from these:

just email me asking for whichever one you want by name, and i'll email them back to you. they're 5mb each (well, 4.7 ish) and all of them loop properly.
email me at:

replace everything in the "<>" with what it should be.

I have Dreamscene enabled on 2 of my Vista machines, don't notice it draining resources, nor has it ever crashed the PC.

If it crashes your PC, it's your hardware/overclock/etc not Vista.
