Hello

i know there is a Kickstarter thread, but thought this would reach the right people better

i back a project called Lightpack a couple of years ago, i have really enjoyed it and almost feel lost with out it on now, but it needs to be hooked up to a PC, This Dreamscreen just uses HDMI in/out and is standalone, so will get this for behind my TV then use my lightpack behind my monitor :D

Looks awesome, but would there be a loss in quality with it going through a splitter? I always assumed the TV displays in Currys/PC World looked so poor due to using HDMI splitters.

i think that is due to the amount of screens they are running and the vid quality not being amazing to start with, they say it handles 4k

I've always wondered about these, don't they have an effect on the effective contrast ratio of what you're watching? Ie wouldn't the extra light round the edges take away from the darks of the screen (not actually on the screen but in relative terms I what you can see)?

I'll have a look when I get home later.

I know having a nice glow round say a floating wall surround helps with the effective contrast ratio, just wondered with it being so close to the screen whether it makes much difference.
