Hellooo

I am trying to edit a website I bought however dreamweaver CS3 is killing my macbook! I have upgraded to 2gb of ram and its still appalling to use!!

Any ideas what could be wrong or what else I could use?

Thanx!

Ive heard of problems with Dreamweaver being slow, one fix I read was this

Run Dreamweaver in Rosetta mode. You will lose performance gains in tasks like startup time, menu response, etc., but the problem described in this TechNote should stop. To run Dreamweaver in Rosetta mode, perform these steps:
  1. In the Finder, browse to Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CS3/Dreamweaver.
  2. Select the Dreamweaver application and choose File > Get Info.
  3. In the General section, select "Open using Rosetta".
Might seem counter-intuitive but see if it makes any diffrence. Source

If youre after a free web editor alternative, try Nvu

electric ant that rosetta trick does seem to be working! The initial loading takes a while but one the site is loaded it is much easier to work with! I can't understand how or why its better though?

I'm not impressed with adobe!!

What you need for web stuff is Textmate. Not free though.

That really depends on what you use Dreamweaver for. If you use if as a text editor then, you're right - TextMate is the best text editor on any platform I've ever come across. If you're using more of its feature set then panic's Coda is probably your best bet.

Yeah i know, Adobe have known about the slowdown for a while but have failed to provide any fixes yet...

Anyway glad to hear Rosetta mode worked out for you! :)
