I'm sure some sensible advice will be forthcoming :)

My partner and I are off for a weekend Classic Car Tour with the Gay Classic Car Group, the weekend is based at a 4 Star Hotel and travels around North Yorkshire taking in some splendid sights.

So:

Sunday is our gala dinner evening, with a challenge to dress to impress.. interpret that as you will

Any advice/ideas?

pictures of previous would be a guide

I haven't a clue, flicking through the quarterly magazine reveals a mostly middle aged and middle class sort of membership.

There are some unhelpful Pie Charts on the GCCG Website:

http://www.gccg.org.uk/about/

From a recent issue:

The event was closed with a gala dinner
party held in the Ballroom entitled “Carry
on in the Pink.” Well, there was a great array
of pinkness going on such as, bow ties, ties,
shirts, belts, watch straps, umbrellas, hats,
jewellery, waist coats, socks, and braces.
One participant came as a mimic of a pink
peacock, or was it a cockatoo or perhaps
a rooster?

Thanks for the ideas fellows.

Not sue why the GCCG exists really, been a member for years and so far have only attended one Sunday meet a couple of years ago, just fancied this weekend away.

Tweed. Defiantly tweed. Will there be a wife swap afterwards?

Hope not, but hopefully I can manage a few ogles as I am still in good shape for an old fart.

So far the party frock seems to be the winner!

I meet with groups for many if my interests. I couldn't give a flying pig's left nut on whether the other people there are gay or straight. I don't see what your sexuality has to do with your interests in the slightest.
I'd go as far as saying if you only want to engage with people of the same sexuality as yourself then you're quite frankly a bit of a bell.

I also socialise with many groups which have no mention of sexuality, I merely mentioned the name of the group has it may have a bearing regarding the original question.
