Anyone tried dried fish snacks a fishy version of jerky, more of a Scandinavian or Far East snack. But I'm interested in trying some.
Anyone seen any for sale anywhere, or even made there own?

Anyone li them or even tried them.

Dried haddock seems to be popular.

I had some dried fish in vietman - unidentified species!
bought it from a street seller when we were having a drink at a pavement bar - the guy heated it up a bit over charcoal and then handed it to me! Tasty with beer but you need the lubrication, thing was chewy as!

Got some delivered, needed some more jerky so figured I'd order from there and give the fish a go...

Got some of the cod, brushtooth lizardfish (couldn't not with a name like that), some roasted shrimp and some of the Bitafiskur (the Icelandic dried haddock).

The Bitafisker is the only one i've tried and I quite like it, it's almost like the fish version of pork scratchings, glad I bought the bigger bag... It is rather expensive though.

Let us know how the others are,

What was the texture like? As that's what really put me off, realy interested in that chili cod fish one.

The texture is a little strange, it's quite puffed up but also quite firm and obviously very dry... I quite like it, but I'm quite a big fan of different dried foods, can see how some people might not be keen.

I love jerky and stuff.

But ip the fish I had wasn't even really chewy. Puffed up, dry and kind of brok down to long chains.

Out of curiosity and not being one for self control busted open the cod strips... Totally different to the other one, wasn't really dry and was way more chewy almost like a jelly sweet.
It is really salty though, I'm a bit of a salt fiend but a few pieces was enough for now.

Now you have me interested, that texture sounds far more down my alley.

Roll on payday, get some off the Indiana jerky as well seeing as its low carb. Why do Wild West coat it in sugar.
