Hi all,

I inherited a load of second hand stuff when a relative passed away, as I need to get things sorted so I can look at converting the garage and building the new office I am sorting through it all.

I came across a load of drill bits but I can't identify the end of them to see which drill I need.

I have 3 drills, a large powerful hammer drill that came with a load of masonry bits, it's bits have a grooved end and kind of click in. the other 2 are typical battery ones with your standard round ends, neither of which could take these:

Any ideas?

The grooved click in drill you have is an SDS. The Tapered ones you have in the pic are old fashioned wood auger bits for a hand brace drill.

Thanks :) Looks like I might have to try and find myself one then, unless its in one of the boxes of stuff I've not sorted :)

20 seconds if you know its called a shank :p All I was getting was explanations for the other end :p

I didn't start by googling shank either, I couldn't think what it was called 10 seconds googling revealed that, and 10 seconds to find out what the type was ;)
