I have ordered a 140mm Viper fan for the top of my Thermaltake V3, upon looking at the specs for the case it says it's only 120mm fan slot, but there is another few holes spare around the 120mm fan I have there atm. Just wondering how easy it is to make a hole in the case to screw the fan in if needed.

I imagine it's as easy as it sounds, get the correct sized drill bit, mark the correct location and drill away :) (Just make sure the PC's off and you cover the components to stop the dust geting on them)

also use masking tape on the case, in case the drill slips, mark an X on the tape, for the screw locatation, then drill away ;)

....and also bear in mind that some of the fan's power will be wasted as it pushes air against the smaller 120mm hole. More noisy too I'd guess due to this potential turbulence.

There is enough space for the 140 but I dont know how the holes will line up. I guess I'll find out in a few hours.
