I like a drink but want to stay within the legal driving limit ,typically I will have 1.5 units around 5pm ,then drive at 8.30 then have up to 3 units between 9-10.30 and drive again .

Now your suppose to lose 1 unit per hour so I should be fine but after reading about the guy on here that lost his licence after only 3 pints of fosters over 5
hours and lost his licence it seems it not so clear cut .

Just wondered if anyone has considered buying one of these

have tried the cheap ones which are useless ,the fuel cell ones are the best but £200 (a bit steep) was thinking maybe around the £90 mark .They need to be calibrated every 6 months too ,no idea how you do that .

no lectures about not drinking at all please ;)

Spot on and lets not forget the people that have to tell families that there loved ones have been killed by a driver over the limit, funnily enough a friend of mine had to do that that last week.

Thats what the thread is about though making sure I'm Not over the limit .

Its 1 pint of beer not 6 .

For those that think thats wrong then you should be trying to get the law changed .I believe its currently being considered to drop the limit soon anyway .

never understood someone saying "I really need a beer/drink/glass of wine". Surely that's alchoholism?

I suppose it is really to a mild extent ,its just a bad habit I've got into ,always have a pint every evening and yes I do feel that I need one .

I guess if it becomes a regular habit the body feels it needs its hit the same as coffee /chocolate /smoking etc.

I think smoking should not be allowed at the wheel either .
