Drinking age in Spain?

Hey all.

Am going out to spain next year, and am wondering on the drinking age? A lot of places seem very vauge on it, either 16 or 18...

I heard bars are generally very lax out there, but what about like, super markets and the like? If anyone can help out, would be much appricated

Costa blanca will be the area, we own an apartment out there

I believe 16 is the drinking age in most of Europe :\

In some European countires (eg Germany) you can drink beer at 16, but for most stronger stuff you need to be 18.

Wikipedia says for Spain it's 18 for the purchase of alcohol, and no minimum age for its consumption.

probably not something you should worry about , unless you look like your 13

Haha nah. I've been served in bars out there under age, but I was more specifically looking at supermarkets, as in general they are cheaper.

OMG you can buy drink cheaper in the supermarket than a bar !!!!

All this time, I've gone and bought dozens of pints down the local when I've been having a houseparty !

sister lives and works in a bar in spain. they dont serve under 18's
