I know what you people are like. There'll be a few replies along the lines of "I don't drink [insert smiley face]" and "drink responsibly and it won't happen [also insert smiley face]" from sanctimonious, bored computer users. But last night some things happened, I don't really know what. Somehow I managed to get home. I woke up and there was pasta on the floor again. There was some opened, undrunk beer and Tabasco all over the place. Once I woke up and there was coffee spread around the kitchen. It was quite amusing a while ago but now it's starting to get slightly worrying. At least I didn't wake up in the bed of another man.

How common are these things? Obviously I haven't done anything too dodgy after a few drinks since I haven't been vanned yet, that's the litmus test. Spilt pasta is the least of my problems. Who else has experienced these and are they indicative of a larger problem?

dont drink so much then! :p ive only blacked out once (as in, i dont remember anything, but was doing things im not aware of) because i drank way too much. we had those little white plastic cups you get out of a cantine, and was having shorts in those. it was southern comfort. i cant stand the stuff now, even though i wasnt violently ill or anything. my mates had to take me home in a car asap, and i fell over and lost a fair bit of skin on my arm. (blood all over my bed)

You don't have to be sanctimonious to realise that drinking until you black-out is a remarkably stupid thing to do. But you seemingly don't need advice, so keep doing it :)

Had a good few of them, one of my mates is notorious for them i.e. basically every night. As you seem to have realised yourself its simply just not pushing the boundaries that far too avoid it.

If you have good mates that look out for you, worst that can happen is a fight going on around you and you cant do anything to help. However these mates will not continuously waste their nights out on getting you home when you do this, it gets annoying VERY quick when constantly repeated. In which case you'll most likely be robbed because you'll be passed out somewhere. I'd avoid it if you could, personally it scares the arse off me in that I say and do things I have no control over and basically anything could happen. My notorious mate has lost his teeth three times

you'll probably start to remember some hazy details. Not great if it happens all the time, but if it's occasionally misjudging it, what's the biggy? Assuming that is you're under 30 - bit naff for us oldies to blackout.

ive never blacked out, and i drink loads..

i cant understand how that happens

To me its down to drinking LOTS fast. Thats the only way you can get past the 'i've drunk so much I feel ill stage' otherwise you pull a tactical and keep going

I don;t remember what happened on new years eve. All i know is my mum has been avoiding me for the last 8 days. My dad might have murdered her though, as i haven't seen her since then.

Whatever i did must have been pretty ****ing bad:o

Last time i got that drunk a woke up on a disused rail bridge with 2 security/razor wire fences on either side, had to jump off the side of it to get out. **** knows how i got in there.

But yeah it happens cause you've drank too much :/

Wtf else do you expect as a response....

what do you want people to tell you? that there is some other explanation for your blackout?

you had way to much to drink

edit: :)

i get that if i drink things that i don't normally drink, it's quite common tbh

were you going mental having loads of shots and different lager / ciders ?

i tend to stick to lager / sambuca for a 'worry free' night

Yes, one of my friends was notorious for blackouts. He ended up being taken away by police; with carpet burns all over his face; getting in fights etc... but now he's dead.

Your post came across better before you edited it. But I'd still love to know what you did on New Year's Eve.

Really I was just looking for a response to the question in my final sentence.

That's the weird thing: it was all beer.

Blacking out after drinking too much is one thing I really don't like. Predictably it started at uni. I'd wake up in the morning wondering how the hell I got home. Once I woke up with wet shoes (and for the record they did not smell of urine, just water!) which was a bit worrying. I'd probably gone for a walk in the park, though I would have had to climb over the gates to get in at that time!

However the worst was at a works christmas party for a place I was doing some temp work at 3 years ago. There was a rather cute girl there who I was getting along pretty well with until that night. I drank way too much free wine and overpriced beer, and to this day I have no idea what I said or did, but after that she hardly spoke to me.

I try not to drink so much these days.

PK!

like I care, it;s the truth of the matter.

So would I mate.

Well t depends whether you count getting too ****ed as a larger problem. It's either that or massive brain tumour.

i get it when i drink vodka and it used to happen all the time in uni. the funniest ones were "coming too" snogging some girl or in the days afterwards having random people coming up and having a chat like a good old mate and me having no idea who they were.

i'd suggest it will only be a problem if you become a burden on others, if they constantly have to take you home and you ruin their evenings. if you wake up with random stuff in your house, no serious injuries wondering how you got you there then it's pretty fun (or it was in my younger days).

what kind of beer were you drinking? we called starpronanananenenen (sp) looney juice as that also caused blackouts if not careful.

I find that drinking a **** load, usually in addition to whisky makes me forget things.. How much do you drink before this happens?

I once ended up with a massive stone statue of an eagle in my room. Who knows where that came from!

Was it because of the drink?
Because I know someone who also died because of too much.
Maybe you should slow down :(
