So I am turning 30 on Wednesday which is not a bad thing but isnt too good either.

Luckily to make up for that I'm off to New York on Friday with a few mates to get fairly hammered.

Just wondering if anyone has been there and has any recommendations for bars and clubs!! Not bothered about doing the tourist things - just where to get the next pint. :D

heartland brewery do good beer...

to be honest theres loads of irish bars if you want beer..theres an interesting belgian one near times square but isnt open at night (?!!)

lots of places have live music and drink...different in style to the UK pub

Staying at Times Square so I'll look out for it.

Leave late on Sunday night so will miss the St Patricks Day stuff which is meant to be really good, sure I'll have a good time anyway!!

If you are really only interested in 'where is the next pint' why are you spending a fortune going to New York?

you could save money and get hammered here!

Because I've never been before and fancied it. :D

Its also my 30th so wanted to do something a bit different.

I couldn't really get into their beer, too watery and had a jagged chemical taste.
However, theres a good irish bar that did newcastle brown, on tap. I can not remember where it was though.

I've been recommended 33rd Street and 3rd Avenue - apparently the Joshua Tree, Mercury Bar and Kavanaghs are decent to go to.
