Well boys and girls, I'm bored, sick to death of going over the aetiology of neurological disorders, so I wanted to see if there were any others out there that have discovered the amazing world or tea without milk?

It was only the other day I went to make the lady a brew and found we'd ran out of milk. So I made one anyway and bloody loved it. I'm a fan of iced tea so when I think about it, it doesn't seem too strange. However, I popped round to my sisters yesterday and when making one I asked her to hold the milk and they both thought it was a bit odd!

I'm also out of normal sugar back here so am using good old Silver Spoon sugar cubes. I find them a bit rubbish really, and ony my fourth cup since 20:00, I think 3 cubes per cup is a tad excessive. No doubt I'll be up all night, but seeing as there is only a few days left for exams I might as well make the most of it.

Joy. Pointless thread? Makes a change from 'oh noes, I'm out of milk, what should I do, my girlfriend wants to go on a break because of it, spec me a new one?' ;)

Ah, a good turnout for none milkers. I used to swear by tonnes of milk (in coffee anyway) and a shed load of sugar. I was down to one sugar.

Those who haven't tried tea sans milk (normal tea, PG tips or whatever your tipple) give it a shot. You maybe pleasantly surprised.

I feel I should bring up the magic 3 second kettle, as without milk (time saving) you could in theory soon be drinking 10 second tea.

Sounds good. Now, another question then. My housemates and I had a discussion about the hot water that comes out of our taps. We have a combi boiler, not a storage tank, so therefore in effect our hot water should be 'clean' no? Because, it gets so damn hold it scalds and would be sufficient to make tea with and no doubt costs less.

Would it be clean to drink?

"Put the tap on, I fancy a cuppa." Doesn't have the same ring to it. :p

For once, I did actually spill some tea when I read that :D ROFL.

My issue is deciding when enough is enough before taking the bag out. I just wait until I can't be arsed waiting, which is generally very short.

Maybe I should make a thread on it.

OK, just been to the shop. I had NO idea what bags to get, so stumped for some Twinnings Everday bags. Any good? Just brewing one up now.

Any one got any advice on the average time to allow you bag to 'mash' for?

Kol, are you a medic?

P.S. Tea without milk is g-r-o-s-s :p unless it's icy and lemony!

Haha, I wish sumanji, plain old Neuroscientist in the making mate! Funny you should mention ice and lemon. If you like lemon tea get 'Lift' ... it's great with a few cubes of ice.

edit - reminds me, how did things go? I recall your past thread about you finishing medicine. Everything go as planned? Best of luck. A mate of mine finishes his next year. He intercalated his course with a neuroscience degree and his work was breathtaking. Publishes his findings in the Journal of Neuroscience later this year. He made quite a breakthrough.

I recently started drinking tea with no milk or sugar but a drop of honey

Housemate and I discussed this earlier when we went for a wander. She bought some 'set' honey. I love set honey... mmmmmmm. I think I've gone a little soft lately. Must be more manly.

I find it weird how I used to have milk in drinks as I don't like it over cereal (can eat weetabix dry ) and apparantly I never liked it as a child, so had other such foodstuffs to fulfill my dietary requirements.
