Drive cloning question...

I was just wondering if anyone uses a program called Drivesnapshot? I have used it on several ocassions and it has proved to be very good. I am planning on implementing it at work to streamline windows installations after hard drive failure. I just have a question about a security issue - does anyone know if Drivesnapshot or any similar software copies ALL partition data including files that have been previously deleted off the system? I know that fragments of deleted files remain within the partition, but just wondered if the cloning software would pick up on it all

interesting question, i'll give it a blast on a virtual machine in a few days time and let you know..

unless using a sector-by-sector copy, i can't imagine it copying data marked as deleted, depends on the software used though

i'll be testing using acronis true image, and recuva for getting the files back

Unless you do a full sector by sector copy the it won't copy previously deleted files AFAIK.

I know that Ghost does a sector copy as standard which will copy literally everything on the drive.
