Drive Cloning

I have a backup image of my 300Gb Hard Drive with DriveImage XML.

I am going to get an 80Gb Hard Drive for my data. Could I use my image to go to that bearing in mind the drive is smaller. The image file is 19.5 Gb.

Is this possible, I just thought it would save a reinstall of windows and all my apps.

Yes you can as long as the image fits on the disc, but you usually can't pick and choose what's on the image, it's either a whole partition/disc or nothing.

use acronis it will let you select files, you wont need to restore the entire image if you don't want to

Will bear that in mind. I hate reinstalling windows...its such a drag!!
