Hi,
Not sure who to report this problem to really - Microsoft, Marvell or Apple.
I recently installed iTunes on my PC after having bought an iPod and have suddenly found a crushing bug on my system. I was adding MP3s to my library and then I tried to add some Album Art from my F: drive, which is one of two partitions on a drive that is connected to the Marvell RAID controller on my motherboard (only one drive connected, so theres no RAID)...
When I double-clicked on the Album Art to add it, Windows froze.. and then came back to life a few seconds later, only my drive (and its two partitions) had disappeared from Windows. Checking the Event Viewer showed a load of errors about the drive vanishing, etc.
I thought this was a bug with iTunes, but recently I tried opening a MOV file in Quicktime that was on my F: drive and the same thing happened. Windows freezes and a few seconds later comes back to life but minus that hard drive.
I tried booting in Safe Mode thinking it was perhaps some sort of driver conflict but it does it in safe mode too. It is easily repeatable - I just boot Windows (safe mode or normal), open Quicktime, try and load a video off either partition on the drive attached to the Marvell controller... and *boof* drive gone.
I can load movies, add Album Art, etc from the partitions that are on my Intel RAID controller (2 x 74GB Raptors in RAID 0), but this is obviously a show-stopping problem for me as it means I can't play/use anything from the drive(s) attached to that controller.
So - is this a Marvell or Apple problem?
Has anyone else experienced this? (unlikely but worth a shot..)
