As a follow up from this thread (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17588930) I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good tool that would check the health of my drive.

I'm not convinced it's faulty, more that either the cables of the SN25P are 'not that good' or a simple case of bad-luck and the hard-drive has lost its FAT due to a restart.

The only thing that points me towards the health of the drive is the annoying hanging of the system and the constant access of the hard-drive, but again, this could be windows trying to cache data, perform misc. reads/writes to the drive and finding errors.

Anyone know of any good software that will check the integrity of the drive?

Cheers

Cheers for that. Tried HDD Health yesterday, wonder if that's buggy 'cos it reported my 250Gb drive as a 134 one!

But HD Tune is looking good so far.

Thanks again.

You could just use the drive utility from the HDDs manufacturer. There will be some kind of diagnostics tool that will find any problems. It may also be able to fix some of them too.
