Hi

I have a sony laptop which has hard drives labelled C & D. It also has a memory stick labelled F and DVD drive labelled E. When i connect to my work network the drives start at letter G: onwards. I cannot change these to a different letter as we are a worldwide organisation.

When I add my USB memory stick to the USB slot and I am connected to the network it is unrecognised. When I am away from the network it gets assigned to G. How do i change the letter that gets assigned to this, so I can use it when on the network.

Thanks in advance.

Right click on my computer, manage. Then click on disk management after you've put in the USB stick. You can then right click on the drive on the bottom right of the screen and click change drive letter

You want to do the following:

Insert your USB drive.

Click on Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management.

This will open up the computer management window. Click on disk management on the left hand side and it will show all the drives on the right hand side.

Right click on the USB drive shown in the lower half of the window and select Change drive letter and paths. Select change and choose the drive letter that you want.

That should be it.
