Is it possible to manually assign which letter goes to which drive
ie C:/Local disk
d :/dvd drive
e:/sd card reader
etc etc

or is it all controlled by windows.

Using Media Centre edition if it makes a difference

thanks in advance for any replies

Right click on my computer and click manage then click disk management in the left pane.
Right-click the drive or partition that you want to assign a drive letter to, and then click change drive letter and paths.
Then click on change driver letter and paths and away you go :)

Yeah its quite easy to do but if you want to use a letter thats already in use you have to assign that drive another letter then set your other drive to the freed up letter.
