I just picked up a 60GB SSD as an overflow to my 120gb boot SSD.

Up until now, big programs or programs I didn't use often were installed on a mechanical drive, but there are only about 10GB of applications so I thought I'd move them onto the new SSD.

Is it as simple as copying the program files folder over (maybe changing the drive letter to match the old one), or do I need to do anything special? This is not the main programs files folder, just a folder I made on the mech drive and install progs to.

You'll probably need to uninstall the apps first otherwise the registry entries, etc, will be incorrect.

I got impatient, so I just copied the entire drive over, formatted the old one and swapped the drive letters. Everything works, including the old shortcuts. Win!
