A few months back, I got hold of an M2 drive, in the hope of moving my W10 installation onto this for a bit of a speed increase. When I came to do it, hit a weird situation where it appears my W10 install has spread itself over 2 different SSDs as when I unplug what is not my C drive, windows fails to boot.

What I am now thinking is, is it possible to use software like Acronis or something similar to migrate this split install onto the single m2?

It could be that just your boot files are on the other drive, I would unplug the drive that doesn't have Windows installed on, then run a Recovery Windows 10 USB/CD and repair the startup files. If that fixes it then you can easily migrate the data across.

Am sure I have tried that before and got no where other than ' no boot media inserted' after Windows ran its recovery, but will give it another go and see where I get

Windows differentiates between the boot drive and the system drive.

Could this be the cause? As you may be able to tell, no that knowledgeable about this subject

Just done some more reading (probably should have done that before posting) and I may have to move my System Reserved Partition to resolve this issue.

Will look into doing that this weekend.

Guess this is what Nothitman was recommending. Think when I tried it last, I just went from the Windows Install DVD Media, which I am guessing is different to a recovery USB/CD
