Drive sharing/Homegroup issue

So I've got 3x1TB drives and 1x500gb drive.
The 500gb I can share/access just fine to my laptop however the 3x1TB even though I've selected permission to everyone with read/write. I can't access them through my laptop.
Though my workstation can access them files normally.

Can't remember that I did anything to my laptop settings.

anyway to reset this? prefer to not reformat windows again.

Is your laptop on W7?

Check that the network type is 'Home' and not 'Public'

That causes all sorts of weird issues


Also, might need to set your permissions in the NTFS security permissions as well as network share

Yeah hmm something odd there, I just switched on password protected sharing once that done and did a quick shutdown. Then I tried to access the drives again it asked for password it worked!. I hate it when you solve a problem without knowing what the cause was. Anyway thanks!
