drivelock password help!

Hello

Recently purhased a 2nd hand 500gb wd black. Bought it blind as you do....
Anyway when i put it in and fire computer up. Its asking for a drivelock password?
Is there anyway to remove it ? Would fdisk work ?
Or is it on the firmware?

Any help would be great

Sounds like a firmware level lock the same as the original xbox used.

Which without the password is as I understand impossible to remove.

There we're ways it could be done on the xbox but as it falls under piracy I can't discuss that one.

Ye i had a feeling it was down to the firmware.
Im not too fused as only paid a fiver so not a great loss. And its to much trouble to get an extra 500gb lol
