Driver 1 PS3?

Just saw this on the PS store. Have fond memories of it from way back when on PC. How does it hold up today? might buy it.

nostalgia is good for mabe 20 mins, but all it ever was was a time trial between 2 points with cops after you.

I suppose in some ways it was a bit like a very basic GTA3 before its time.

evil? in the garage where you had to basically do a burnout, use the breaks and do a lap?

done it on my 2nd or 3rd attempt.

this was quite possibly the best game ever made on the ps1 and this is coming from someone who had over 100 games on the ps1.

the 2nd and 3rd comings driver 2 and driv3r where nothing compared to the original. the 2nd had worse graphics (although they were already not the best) but you could get out of the car (ala grand theft auto) and the 3rd killed off the franchise by being the worst game ever made.

i could without a doubt say that driver paved the way for a lot of other games who either copied or further developed its original assets. i think i still have the original disc in the attic, i might even be tempted to play it again some day.

this was released in the same year as grand theft auto 2, so it was leaps and bounds above the GTA series, in fact i reckon, GTA 3 probably copied a lot of the aspects of the original driver.

I remember staying up all night to finish this game, spent something like four hours just doing the final mission over and over until I managed it.

Superb game, must remember to go back through it again at some point.

My favourite part of this game was escaping the cops, on a time trial basis. Rest of the game, never really played it lol

One of my top all time games, sunk many hours into this as a young 'un. If I had PS3 I'd certainly get the original Driver.
