Driver caught doing 154mph and only gets 56 day ban!

I've never seen any late evening or during the night. They aren't even manned by police any more, just contractors who won't work overtime and knock off at 5pm on the dot

EXACTLY but you still get patrol cars sneaking round.

the laser vans are manned as you say by contractors, i got out the other day in Pennington and had a row with one, luckily someone flashed me around the previous corner so i managed to slow down to 30 from 50.

they dont just park up, they try and hide as well........i ******* hate that

they usually have the detector in the back and the camera in the front, but as soon as you see those red and yellow stripes you've had it.............if i see ANY WHITE VAN i slow down, i dont wait to see if it has those stripes on it................ usually it's a Bakers van or a house plant van

I see/know some people who have that tinted/shaded rear number plate thing. Apparently it means that cameras can't read the numberplate if they take a photo/flash.

yea, it's the camera's exposure, it'll read it easily

if your're coming towards the vans front end i think you're safe, because i've never been done from the front end. (yes vans vary but not around here)

i think the photo is taken after you've been detected speeding from the rear, and the damned photo is taken after you've gone past the front
