I am very new to Linux but am getting increasignly frustrated at how annoying it is to do the most simplest of tasks.
Mint keeps going back to 'fallback' mode and I can not get drivers to work properly. When and if they do work I can't even get my second display to show properly.
Such simple tasks I take for granted in Windows are a real pain on this!
How am I meant to install nvidia drivers, it keeps telling me I need root so I do su xxxx then try again and it says I need to restart x? I tried some stuff last night involving su init 3 etc.. and it seemd to do nowt.
I am close to given up altogether I don't really know if it is worth the extra hassle.

Ok according to nvidia-settings I am using the current version but it is still going to fallback mode every time I login.
