Driver Issues?

Evening guys,

Recently upgraded my monitor to a 144hz 1080 AOC FreeSync monitor running via display port....

if I alt tab/windows key out of games every so often I get the following, sometimes i get it when the PC goes to sleep and I wake it back up, I seem to be getting black sort of blips on the screen too? hard to explain, other than that the image quality and everything is spot on, I've ran this with freesync on and off and get the same result.

PC Specs are below.
R9 290 Vapour X 4GB
Corsair RM 850 PSU
i7 4790 (cooled with a h100i)
16GB of corsair vengeance ram
500GB Samsung 850 evo
1TB 7200 samsung mec drive
Gigabyte Z97x gaming 7
Windows 8.1

None of the above is overclocked I never had any issues with my old monitor (27" asus led 1080) which was running over HDMI, I'm running the latest drivers from AMD and windows is up-to-date.

Any advise/help would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried your old HMDI cable? I know it wont give you freesync but might point to a flaky DP cable...

I have a vaporx and freesync on a different monitor and have not seen the behaviour in your pic.

Testing with HDMI, picture seems a lot sharper? but 60hz is a massive kick in the balls.

Is it worth me buying a new DP cable?
