Because the sentence he has been given is 5 times worse than what your average rapist gets... so it's a viable metric to compare against, along with being locked up with rapists and murderers without actually hurting anyone.
His sentencing would have taken into consideration his past convictions, so no, it's not a "viable metric" at all. It's pretty obvious this isn't going to have been his first run-in with the justice system. You do realise the majority of people in prison aren't rapists and murderers, don't you?
And seeing as you keep bringing it up: Rape is one of the most difficult crimes to secure a conviction on, for various reasons. If the guy had filmed himself raping someone four times he wouldn't be getting a 6-month custodial sentence as you seem to be suggesting.
Its making me cringe reading some of the trolls posting in this thread.
The jail sentence is disproportionate to the offense but as i said before there is clearly more to this than a case of speeding. Namely his previous criminal history and refusal to take responsibility. They discovered these videos after going through his phone relating to a separate arrest so they were clearly going after him for something serious. If this was average Joe being caught with a few speeding videos a 2+ year jail sentence would be ludicrous.
Firstly, you can't compare sentences like that without considering all manner of factors around the circumstances of any case you're applying this argument to, sentence guidelines, the judges in question, etc.
Secondly, it's perfectly possible that those who think the speeding sentence is sufficient also think that the rape sentences you're bleating about are too low.

Indeed, plus he's not posted a link to back his claim up, I don't beleive for a second that someone was found guilty of rape and only received a 6month sentence, even more so if it was drug rape.
The other quite damning thing is that in the telegraph article about this it says they had evidence of 12 counts of speeding/dangerous driving. Obviously they could only make 4 stick but still...
