Driver-side windscreen wiper buggered

Hi all,

Sorry, total car numpty here - the driver side windscreen wiper just stopped working on my Nissan Primera. The other one still works fine.

Before I try and find somewhere that can fix it this afternoon (need it for work Monday and its going to be cats and dogs!), is it likely to be something stupid like a blown fuse that I could repair, or does it sound mechanical?

On K11 Micras the wiper linkage was quite a common fault, the ends are plastic and used to snap. Dont know if the Primera used the same linkage but it sounds like the wiper linkage has snapped.

edit: If you need it for Monday, scrap yards are your best bet for a replacement, I very much doubt any motorfactors will have one and the dealers parts depo are likely to be closed now.
