Sorry if this is a dumb question but I just installed assassins creed and when I click on the icon nothing happens. I have a feeling that the graphics drivers didnt install properly.

I installed the catalyst thing from the ati website. When I go into devices the graphics card has that yellow hazard symbol next to it. It says windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (code 43).

Also when I click into display it says generic pnp display on standard VGA adapter.

I have little experience in troubleshooting problems like this so any help would be great.

i7 4700MQ, 16gb corsair, radeon 8970M, windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
 
I also ran dxdiag just there and display shows that standard VGA graphics is in use. I have no idea if what I just said helps or not
 
Managed to solve this problem. Just in case anyone else ever has the same problem (Im sure they will). If you buy the p177sm without an OS installed and then install windows 7 the 8970m gpu drivers wont install properly. I called ocuk and they said that I must install another onboard graphics package first then another specific driver for the gpu. They were very helpful!
