Drivers etc after building fresh computer (all new parts)

Hi there

I've just finished building my system and I'm wondering what the first steps I should now take are, particularly related to the motherboard and its drivers/BIOS etc.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?

I have an i7 2600k and an ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe, plus an SSD with W7 on, and a 1TB HDD.

Grab the latest BIOS & drivers from the relevant websites.

Motherboard drivers.
Chipset drivers.
Graphics drivers.
Soundcard drivers.
Peripheral drivers.

I do hope you installed the OS under AHCI and not IDE, otherwise your drivers are not going to speed things up at all. There are ways of converting it to AHCI and would gladly help but if you can do it first time W7 works better and more efficiently under the Z77 drivers. As long as you have Aligned your SSD your Windows 7 should automatically pick up on the trim. There are many around here whom will give you advice on that. Given that once all the latest Z77 drivers are installed you should have no issues.
