Hi there,
I have an Advent 5302 laptop and im running vista premium on it, I am looking to upgrade to windows 7 however I dont have a clue where to obtain the drivers as I wasnt supplied with a driver disk and they are pretty impossible to find on the net. I do have an option to create a recovery disk however I am pretty sure this only deals with a clean reinstall of vista with the required drivers built in already. Help!!!! :(
thanks;)

You'll probably find Windows 7 has all the drivers you need, it may not even matter if you're doing an in-place upgrade. Cross that bridge (if and) when you get to it.

There will be standard drivers available from the various device manufacturers. Shouldn't be too hard to find with a bit of googling.

As above really, Win7 will probably find all the drivers anyway - if not, most Vista ones will work too.

And yeah, the recovery disk will just re-image the machine with the original Vista config.

Try looking on the hardware manufacturers websites for drivers. Looks mainly SIS based in that model.

T5550 doesn't support virtualization so stick to Home Premium in Win7 as you cant use the virtual xp mode available in pro version. You can still run stuff in xp compatability if you need to though.
