Having taken delivery of my shiny new laptop today I was wondering what the best options are for drivers ?

With all previous laptops I've owned, its been down to the manufacturer of the laptop to provide drivers rather than the card vendors, is this still the case ?

The machine in question is a Dell XPS 1710 running a nVidia 7950GTX, not that I have a problem with the shipped drivers, just curious.

I'd leave it then. I know with the ATi drivers that they work with both desktop and laptop graphics solutions, however there's no mention of that on the nVidia site.

Also, if your nVidia drivers work, I certainly wouldn't touch them. :p

I spent 2 days chasing around what must have been about ~ 35 driver versions for my m1710's 7900gtx, flashed it to a tweaked 7950gtx and re did the process, ended up going back to the stock dell drivers. :)
