Is there a programe that will scan my system and identify the current drivers I have installed and then search on line for more uptodate versions ?

I am not able to identify some of the drivers and would like to know if there are any newer versions avail

:)

Some motherboards come with this type of thing (live update utility) but obviously that only caters for onboard stuff.

The main problem with any such utility would be that it would have to cater for hundreds of different manufacturers, most of who would have different ways of publishing their drivers. So in other words it would be unreliable.

Best option is just to periodically check on the manufacters websites.

What he said. There are programs that can do this but you'd have to pay quite an unreasonable amount of money considering you can just surf the Internet to the sites for your hardware and get the drivers off them.
