Is it possible to generic drivers for a computers graphics card and mobo?

I got an old pc with no drivers and put win2k on it but i need graphics drivers, i am only going to be using it for messing around on?

is in onboard graphics etc?
check the motherboard details online and you may find em, or post em here and I'll have a look
 
You should be able to find it's driver on somewhere like driverguide. If there is no clear branding on the card you need to start googling the numbers on the card, they normally lead you to the manufacturer.

I think it may be possible to do without taking apart the computer (hardware id somewhere in the system info?) but I'm old fashioned and just take the card out and google the details on it.

CPU-Z from www.cpuid.com should be able to identify the motherboards model number.
