Hi

My bike has developed a light clunking noise when riding along. It seems to be coming from the front wheel/front sprocket area but it's hard to tell when riding along. The noise is like a light constant clunk-clunk-clunk noise!

The noise only occurs when I have the throttle open and the bike is on the road. If I let off the throttle and coast along there is no clunk.

I put the bike on the rear stand and 'rode' it but there is no noise so it only happens when the bike is on the actual road.

Any ideas on what it could be or what I should be looking for?

Yep new chain time, had this twice and it was a bad tight spot in the chain, could hear it esp when powering out of corners

Thanks for the ideas.

I will take the front sprocket cover off and give the chain/sprockets a proper check.

wazza330, you just reminded me that the noise is worst as you come on the power with anything more than 1/3 throttle from low revs especially in the higher gears.

Yeah any low speed when you load up the engine/chain it was making a knock knock knock sound, was on my zx10r, stuck a new chain on it and it was smooth and quiet again

It'll get louder with time
