Clarkson, Hammond and May have released a new project called Drivetribe.

Basically, social media for people who like cars / bikes / roads / or anything to to with motors.

There's an app you can download for your phone too. Only problem though is you can only register via facebook atm.

I've just downloaded the app but not had chance to look properly yet, seems like a decent app though.

Been on it since the pre-launch launch, quite good, like a facebook for people who don't want cat memes and masses of inappropriate advertising.

Ah so this is what everyone is banging on about. I can see the appeal but it will probably just attract the jap vag boys mostly.

How is a 'Tribe' different to a FB group? Total waste of time if you ask me, sick of seeing 'join my tribe' all over FB tbh.

It's easier to sell a userbase than a FB group.
"We can reach 100,000 petrolheads a month" is a lot better than "I have 100,000 people in my FB group".

I've effectively turned my Facebook into a cars, mountain bikes, walking and camping.... book anyway. I have no interest in seeing how many kids my high school acquaintances have but its excellent for the social aspect of the above hobbies. Can't see why I'd need to join a separate platform for the cars aspect, ocuk is enough for that :p

I dont understand how it's going to pay for itself, so perhaps the advertising is still to come.... :(

That's my only worry, but at least for now it's a nice place for car related articles, videos and general waffle to collect into nice containers.

Been some good mini articles from the May and the Clarkson so far, some tenuously car related, some most definitely car related, and one simply biker baiting :p
