Driving (dum dum dum)

i've had 14 lessons. Started dead on my birthday on April 5th, a few weeks ago.

2 more tomorrow, 1 on thursday and i have my practical test on friday. nervous? nah

£21 a lesson, normal rate i think.

Although you do learn quick and quite well on an intensive course like mine, if i had the patience and time then i probably would have spread it over about 2 months rather than two weeks.

Definately pass your theory beforehand though, it will help when you need to know road signs etc when you actually get to drive.

45 does seem really high, I did mine in 15 lessons as did a lot of people I know, some were maybe around the 20 mark, but not close to 45. Maybe it's the instructors trying to bleed more money from unsuspecting learners.

the DSA say 22 hrs private practice and 45hrs with an ADI to be at test standard and this is dependant on the person if they are ready in 15 then they are ready and will be put in in for it, you cant compare one person to another we are all different in the way we learn to drive.
some are good at knowing how to drive but cant quite put it into practice to the reqired standard.

so no its NOT to rip peolple off at all

One quick question.

I got my license when i was 16 as i went in for my CBT etc...

Since then i've lost my counterpart and just have my photo card license part.

How do i get another counterpart?
Will it cost me?

Thanks,

Andy

1) form in post office

2) yes. but less than the full license which is ~£40 iirc

As others have said, may as well get your theory test out of the way first, it's basically just common sense. I passed my test after about 25 lessons via the instructor only, as did most other people i know. 45 does seem a tad high.
