I'm stuck on what to get my Dad for Christmas and I thought about one of those driving experiences, he's not really into cars but it's something different, couple of beers and some food after and it should be a good day.

Are there any companies/sites I should be looking at specifically? I've seen some starting at £50 going upto £300+. Ideally it'd cost me around £100 or so as i'll also have to buy myself one. :o :D I suppose it depends on what you actually want to do/drive? Like I said he's not a petrolhead so anything "exotic" would be wasted on him, ideally we'd be there a good half day especially if we're driving a fair distance to get there.

What do you guys suggest? :)

I used

Everymanracing (google it)

Went to Prestwold Race track near Loughborough. Was a GREAT selection of cars there...

Race Spec 993 GT2 anyone?

Amongst the usual Ferrari 360's/Lambo Gallardos/some other rather special treats...

Downside? I thought the track was a little smaller than advertised

Upside? Good selection of metal and you can buy more "stuff" there...i.e. like the look of something? buy 4 laps in it. They also do offers where 4 laps becomes 6 for the same price.

Worth a look tbh

FYI

Cars were:

Maserati GT
Subaru Impreza
BMW Alpina
Aston Martin Vanquish
Lotus Elise
Hummer (seriously)
Bentley Arnage (yes on a track!)

Ride alongs in a Radical SR3 with a pro racing driver (very quick)

I did the caterham 7 experience at Silverstone. Bloody brilliant!
I don't know if my instructor was letting me drive harder or if the the other drivers were pants but we were overtaking everything else on the track all morning.

My advice would be to forget the 'super car' days and go for either a single seater or day with some tuition.

I've had a couple of the experiences and tbh they really sucked compared to the single seater day I had.
