Driving game for ps3? any reccomendations??

love dirt myself

the mix of genres is what makes it. Youve got rally cross, rallying, special stages, dakhar style truck racing etc..

the variation make it a brilliant game to have a quick bash at.
 
have just played saga rally and am not a big fan

i loved the wrc games on ps2 - had wrc4 and that was great, i think i need a more realistic game where you have real rally stages and you can configure your car, stuff like that

is a shame, am going to be taking the game back tomorrow and either get a refund or get dirt
 
I can't recommend DiRT highly enough.

After playing the demo, I wasn't sure.
I thought it may get a bit boring, wasn't 100% about the handling.

The full game though is just brilliant.
Far from boring, no problem with the handling, some of the tracks are truely breathtaking in their beauty, runs fast, no slowdown, and I think in the 75 races or so I've completed so far, I may have seen 1 incident of tearing.

Saying that, I've also orderedSega Rally as I enjoy that sort of game too, but, if I had to choose, I prefer DiRT, graphically, and handling wise.

I don't know what it is with me and the Sega Rally demo, I really seem to be having problems with the handling. I've played previous versions of Sega Rally, and loved them. I'm hoping the full version improves the handling, as I'm finding it really frustrating on the demo, can't win at all on anything other than the bumper cam.

I personally though DiRT was awful. Neither are realistic though.

The only racing game I could recommend is Formula 1. Motorstorm is fun though.
 
Could always try GT HD its free but get it while you can as its going when GT5 prologue arrives (or so i have read). Motorstorm is fun online and the new vehicle and tracks are good, needs split screen multiplayer, hopefully when motorstorm 2 comes out in 2008 it will have. F1 ce is good if you like F1 games, but try the demo out first, I prefered DiRT to Sega rally, ( Demos only) thought sega was too arcadey for me. BTW those with Japan PS3 accounts GT5 prologue demo is out in two weeks on the japan PSN store :)
 
I would say Dirt over Sega Rally.
Dirt has consistently good reviews, Sega rally has so far (that i have seen), a couple of good ones, and a couple of ones saying its barely average.

F1 is also excellent.

If you've even just got a passing interest in F1, I'd recommend this.
Should be able to get a good price by now as well, from the MM or bay.

Do any of the driving games have split screen MP?

I know Motorstorm & F1 don't but what about Dirt or Sega Rally?
 
dumb question but how do you download it? would i download it on my pc burn to dvd then install on ps3 or can i download it straight from the ps3?
