Hey chaps, before I start I have tried the government site but like everything ran by our government it's **** and impossible to make sense of.

So, I have managed to lose my driving licence, paper and card. This would not normally be an issue however at the same time I have just had a speeding fine land in my lap.

To fill in the speed fine form I need my driving licence number which I don't have. So what is the quickest most efficient way to sort a new licence? Do the post office still do it or do I have to go online?

In addition, can anyone think of a way to get the fine sorted without having a licence number? Can they sort it themselves?

Rather irritated at the whole situation but only myself to blame for losing the damn thing and then speeding :p any help is appreciated!

Phone up dvla, tell them you've lost it, pay for new one.
Wait a couple of days for it to arrive, fill in speeding fine form, send it off. job done.

Cant remeber if they had a speedy service or if its just normal. Same happened to me ~6years ago.

You need to semd your license off with the form, for them to apply the points.

Marvellous thank you kindly good sir.

Do they replace the paper part with that or is that extra?

Both parts, tell them you've lost both parts as well.
First time I phoned them, i said i only lost the paper part. And they couldnt do anything without me sending the part i had back in. So I hung up and phoned back saying I lost both parts.

Although things may well of changed.
