Driving test failure myth?

Take your instructor with you in the back seat. Although it is legal, examiners don't like it as it is an experienced set of eyes watching over them. Less likely to fail you for nothing when they know you could put a complaint in.

That and you can get them to lean over bobsled style when you're taking a roundabout on two wheels in the wrong lane.

if you don't do anything wrong they can't fail you.

Well they can, because it's their word against yours and no one is going to believe you over the examiner with no proof. Worst outcome for them if you really pressed the issue is a retest with your instructor along for the ride.

(I'm not saying this happens at all often but to say it can't happen I don't think is entirely correct)

I managed to pass with 3 minors for observation AND the instructor said at the end he would bet his mortgage that I wasn't looking properly at roundabouts.

I wondered why he passed me if he said that though. Because I've cycled on the road for years I can look if I'm clear to go pretty quickly...so maybe he thought I was just too cocky with it?

Just try again as soon as you can.

Your instructor wouldn't have put you forward for your test if he didn't think you were ready. It comes down to nerves / little mistakes generally on your test.

Once you pass, you'll just get more and more used to driving until most things become second nature.

Ask your Dad if he can bribe the examiner?

Or you could bribe him seeing as you earn a fortune from your business?

How do you gauge performance?

They have to take tests as well, can't remember how often but I think it's annually.

Their test lasts about 2 hours iirc, they are then given a score and if they post a lesser score during a certain time period they have to re-take their driving instructor test.

No, I meant how do you gauge an employees performance without having something tangiable to measure it by? This was in response to me saying that all jobs have some sort of quota.

Hi guys, driving test centres have to fail a set % of young drivers a week, and tests towards the end of the week they're more harsh on as they may have already met the quota.

I took my test at 4.30pm on a Friday afternoon in 1994. It consisted of about 25 minutes worth of driving before we arrived back at the test centre. I was then asked what the speed limit was on the motorway and asked to identify a sign (National speed limit). He then told me I'd passed and 45 minutes after leaving the house I was back home.

Harsh.
