i didnt fail.

didnt even get my seatbelt on, or the engine started !

the nice people at the instructing company of course done their best to see that they gave me a carf ti for the test, in full working order.

they DIDNT however check that the lever to adjust the seat back and forward was still their, and it wasnt just a metal stump sticking out the seat did they?

so in the event that i got a 6.5' examiner, and in the event that the examiner had to adjust the seat to prevent his head hitting the sun roof... he wouldnt be able to.

all unlikely but thats EXACTLY what happened.
so yea, im back in the house nearly 40 minutes early ! woop woop ! after not even sittign the test WOOP WOOP !

I hope you got a refund.. or atleast your instructor paying to pay for it...

well the 'school of motoring' will be paying for a new test (£50 ) and well, my dad may have sopemthign to say them. and i think by playground rules they should refund me the money i paid to book their 'car' for 2 hours today to do my test in.

so all in all thats £82 for a funny pub story / something to tell the grand kids.

Was about 3 minutes late for my test... they refused to take me..

yea they really do go out on the second that the hand strikes !

this test date just wasnt meant to be, it was my second test ( failed first cos of an idiot... on a round about, usual story.
but my instructor had an pre natal ( sp? ) appointment today which couldnt be changed, rang round the whole yellow pages and found another instructor and car with hours to spare. had a couple hours in the new car and then was due to take the test today. so maybe it just wasnt meant to be :(

A friend of mine went to take his test in his own car. When looking over the car before the test, the examiner decided the tyres were below the legal tread depth, and he failed me mate instantly on his test.

Mate and dad drove straight to kwik fit about 500 yards up the road, where they measured across all of the tread of all the tyres, and found them to be between 2-3mm of tread - so perfectly legal. Kwik fit wrote out a short statement verifying this.

They returned to the driving school, where the examiner was having a cup of tea, showed them the note, but the driving examiner and school said sorry, no refunds, no nothing, you'll have to rebook and pay the full price. The waiting list was about 10 weeks long at that time, which to be fair to my mate must have been hell on earth, as we'd all passed our tests and were zooming around the countryside!

you should have turned up in a FULLY roadworty car!

Hardly his fault is it. In fairness, the car was completely roadworthy, just not suitable for the stuipidly tall instructor. Checking the passenger adjustments isn't exactly the first thing you do when you get in a car.

that really is crap.
as ive learned from 'show me tell me' the legal minumim tread is 1.6mm.

apparently examiners dont like people takign tests in their own cars as it looks liek they havent had any lessons etc.
the test sometimes isnt very fair. but ill hol my hands up and say your mate deffo had it worse than me !
i just look on the roads and think how many people have passed. im a confident, good driver so why arnt i out there yet. its asif ive doen soemthing wriong in a previous life or something !

Heh the learner before me bumped the curb while going about 40 lol and my instructor was worried about it so in turn made me worry when they do they check lol, but in the end he failed me because: "I drive like a Bike rider" when i told him i was (he didnt even check my license) he was like oh, said i was better than perfect on my side mirrors but i never checked my interior mirror when turning right :s he was right though i didnt lol, but second time passed fine with 2 or 3 minors
