Hey all, so my driving test is tomorrow afternoon. I've had 60 lessons (no driving in any other car, had to use instructor) And I am fine and all, bar gear faults (I always drop into 1st when I could get away with 2nd gear) But my instructor said he was being picky so it may not be as bad in terms of number of gear faults ( i average 4 per lesson, not a fail but :/ Plus a lesson is 1 hour this is only 30-40mins)
Other than that he is fully confident in me, says i should pass first time - I'm just nervous. any advice? I'll be having 2 lessons before my test, to practice and calm my nerves a little - anything else? cheers!

You should not have told anyone; friend of mine kept failing with nerves (worried about failing), I told her next text test don't tell a soul you are taking it unless you pass, she passed, all her nerves were based around people knowing she failed.

Even if those 60 is actually 60 hours and it was 30 lessons that's still over like 6 months lmao.

You're driving instructor has milked you dry, I have a feeling you're going to pass lol.

Bed early, big breakfast, be confident.

Just make sure you're checking both sides of pedestrian crossing points as you approach them.

I messed up my first test because a woman was walking towards a zebra crossing and I failed to stop in anticipation of her crossing.

Don't speed...
Don't go from 5th to 1st gear...

That would be my advice from past experiences...

Don't be nervous. It's just a normal lesson but with an examiner to talk to and its only 40 minutes. Think you will pass and you will.
Though I failed 1st time due to stupid stupid mistakes and got 1 easily avoided minor on 2nd test, so pass.

Good luck.

Sit back and enjoy the drive.

I was so glad when I found out that my instructor wouldn't be accompanying us during the test that I found myself relaxed and 'really' for the first time enjoyed being in control and driving. Up to that point I thought I was heading for a fail - hated my instructor for saying that - he was as surprised as I was when I.....

Passed with flying colours - 1 minor

Relax and enjoy your pass. Good luck

If you accidentally go the wrong way, don't worry - the instructor is primarily testing you on safety so if you accidentally end up in the right lane and can't pass across safely tell your examiner this and as a result you cannot go in that direction. Then carry on as normal and he will give you a new route.
