Stopping distances from the Highway Code (which have little bearing on reality any more, since most of the cars on our roads are either better than the guide or so poorly maintained and wearing mismatched ditchfinder specials so that they couldn't even hope to stop in the distances quoted), road signs, road markings, cats eyes colours. That's all the stuff to memorise IIRC. Everything else should be just common sense.
As for the hazard avoidance - I'll defer to those with greater knowledge, I never had to take it.
