I'm sitting my driving theory test on Saturday (12th)

This will be my 3rd time, and I really want to pass it this time. On my first try I got 45/50 on the Multiple choice and 40 on the Hazard Perception

Second try I failed both, I don't want to talk about it.

Have you guys got any tips on passing? I know the hazard perception is the one which is most likely to screw me over.

I remember getting the exact score I needed to pass :p

Hazard perception was pretty obvious, but some of the questions were quite tricky.

Practice as much as you can.

Assuming you have the book of questions, just set up a spreadsheet to populate 50 random numbers and do loads of mock tests as practice. Fill in the spreadsheet as you go and check the answers after.

It will familiarise you with the questions and highlight any particular areas of weakness.

Just keep going over practice questions dude! I passed my theory 3rd time this year aswell, failed the other 2 because I didn't really do enough revision.

You'll find quite a few of the practice questions are worded the exact same as some on the theory test :) Hazard perception just remember to click whenever you see a potential hazard or a hazard forming.

You'll pass this time dw

I am so good I passed twice, both first time! (first one expired lol)

Just get the DVD pack and keep doing the questions/test for a couple of hours.

I remember very little to nothing of what I learnt for the test. I passed mine in august with 49/50. What I would recommend is to get the DVD pack and do the practice test questions over and over until you remember them straight off.

The test questions on the CD are the same as the ones you might get in the actual test.

I have the DVD's but prefer learning from the book, and just sitting the exams on the DVD.

The higher percentage ones are the one's that I've actually revised for, the lower ones are ones I haven't revised for.

The theory test isn't difficult as it is designed for everyone in the UK to pass, but you must go over the questions repeatedly. The same goes for the hazard perception. I only got 1 mark over the pass for it on the hazard perception but I did panic and **** it up.

You must go over (repeatedly!) the material on an up-to-date computer package prior to the real thing. Anyone can take a theory test without any preparation but they won't pass :p.

3 times?

Failing my first one was so embarrassing. I hadn't looked into it at all so I had no idea of the workings. My own silly fault. Got 100% on the questions but had an epic fail on the hazard perception because I thought you could only click once during each video. :o

Got one question wrong in the theory and aced the hazard first time :)

They have a set number of questions and often seem to ask about the same thing, ie endless questions about level crossing. Key is just practice and revision. There are several free sites offering tests or buy an official book/dvd. If you look at what they asking it not really a driving theory test but filling in the blanks the practical won’t cover and common misconceptions.

The hazard had me more worried. The online examples were rather ambiguous of when to press. The test was much clearer, ie a nice empty road and suddenly a car appear at a junction, well I guarantee that car going to do something stupid so get pressing! And press a few times just incase you didn’t get the sweet spot for max points. (ie car at juction, press, car moves out of juction press, car stalls right front of you PRESS!!) Watch out for the one with two examples in it too.

3 times OP? i took mine recently got 49/50 for the theory and 55/75 for the hazard perception. the funny thing is that i didnt even revise for theory and only did a couple free hazard perception tests online.

I used an app and when on the train to work I brushed up.

Passed first time and I think it was because I was able to read and revise as I needed!

questions just praccy....they are the same on the test..

Hazard is a pain in the ass, I figured out I was clicking to early and missing the window....damn 1337 gamer reflexes.

RELAX.
