simple questions..is it legal

mate was doing some off roading in his 4 wheel drive..like an organised day out thing..he rolled his pajero and its still in scotland

the windscreen is no longer in...but he obviously wants to get his car home

the roof is slightly damaged as well which is why he cant just have a new windscreen fitted where it is.

I know the MOT states that the windscreen should 'not hinder or obscure the drivers vision' but surely if theres no windscreen at all this doesnt apply

so...can he drive it back with no windscreen in to get it repaired.......

Why doesn't he just have it recovered?

I think because its around 200 miles away and I'm assuming its cheaper to drive it back than have it towed or put on a flatbed...didnt ask though to be honest

I'd at least wear some kind of eyewear.

Infact I'd probably wear my lid.

aye..he has a bike as well and was planning on wearing his helmet...he is knackered if it rains though..he will need somebody in the back to bail the water out!
