Never got round to having driving lessons as a youth :(

Looking to get some now, anyone want to recommend me some good driving ... erm people ? compaies ? instructors ?!

I live in Leicester, so if anyone has any local knowledge that would be cool.

I'm also 6ft 6 ! Will I fit in the little cars? :eek:

No they give you a special car with extra headroom that says "Point and laugh at the lanky one" on the side.

Honestly - serious thread? :p

Incase of serious thread... just take a google search - there are sooo many schools out there now! Plus, surely you must have friends or family that could point you in the right direction?

I'm 6ft 4 and I die when I drive in my fiesta. Speed bumps kill my knees which hit the steering wheel and my head hits the roof.
Enjoy that extra 2 inches of croutching in the car buddy.

I know, but is there a like driving intructors that operate all over, is there anyone in particular you'd recommend ?

I will ask friends, would also appricate help from you guys.
 
Not sure if this is still true but with the AA about 4 years ago now, I went direct to an instructor that a friend recommended rather than calling up the AA and them finding me someone. Cos I did it that way, lessons were only £16 an hour instead of £20 so saving £4 an hour adds up a bit. So I'd say if you can, get a recommendation, as it may save you money and at least you'll know the instructors not totally crap!
 
i notice your in leicester. i had black cat (of hinckley)who were strict but brilliant. they're 'take no crap' attitude worked for me. i'll be taking lessons 10yrs on if theyre still around when i get my license back. :)

Ring up instructors and ask if they can fit you in for 10 to 15 hrs a week if they say they can they must be quiete. There has to be a reason!
 
I'm learning with BSM at the moment, I'm 6"5 and the Corsa I'm learning in isn't too cramped with seat all the way back :p
 
Im 6 foot 4 and dont be put off with little cars till you sit in them. Ive had 2 lupos (sport and GTI with fully adjustable seats) and they were fine yet a mk5 golf without teh fully adjustable seats is tiny! Vaux Zafia is tiny driving space! I now have a TT and have enough room. S2000 are also roomy
