Drog: Ballack got it wrong

Striker says Germany international should have joined rivals

Outspoken Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has sensationally revealed Michael Ballack got it wrong in joining The Blues.

Ballack joined the then Premier League champions in the summer of 2006 on a free transfer from Bayern Munich, however, his first season was largely disappointing.

Drogba believes that Ballack has struggled at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea rely more on individuals, whereas the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal have balanced sides.

"It is hard for Ballack - Chelsea is special," he told the Sun.

"I'm convinced he would have had an easier time at Manchester United or Arsenal.

"They benefit from a well-balanced team - he would have been a better fit there.

wow he's really going on a charm offensive to the fans isn't he?

i was quite shocked that he went to chelsea, man u were on about him for a long time and im sure it looked like he was heading to them. clearly he felt that money was more important to him :/

I dunno, he'd be a massive player if he was at manyoo. He's exactly what they needed.

so true - he was (possibly is) perfect for any team bar chelsea - especially with the way they line up. it beggars belief how he has failed so miserably - strong in the air, can cope with the physical, can set the tempo and play a tight game.

he is the one missing link in a good real madrid side from all accounts also.

wonder what his price would be for transfer now?

I don't doubt that in the right team and frame of mind he'd be a valuable part of most squads, I mean I wish he hadn't joined Chelsea as he's offered us very little and his large wages could've been spent much better, hindsight is great:)
